It&#8217;s at once refreshingly new and comfortable. I love this town and the space they keep for people here. I know it&#8217;s not perfect and there is lots broken here too, but it&#8217;s refreshing to see things work here in ways they don&#8217;t seem too in Toronto. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s our last morning here and I am not planning to work at all today so I&#8217;m managing to return to some pleasure reading to feed my soul. This passage Scott Cook quotes from Arundhati Roy clearly struck him and it strikes me too. It&#8217;s always good to find ways to keep feet on the pathways to a hopeful future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness &#8211; and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we&#8217;re being brainwashed to believe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling &#8211; their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another world is not only possible, she is on her way.
