I&#8217;m finally getting things in motion, but 5 hours in, I am now remembering what a stupendous amount of work preparing to paint is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>agonise over colour and paint choices (I&#8217;ve done this for months)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>buy paint and supplies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>move the furniture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>patch cracks and holes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>scrape trim<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>smooth patches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>wash walls and trim<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rinse walls and trim (I&#8217;m being a bad boy and collapsing these two into one by not using TSP in the wash step)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>mask\/tarp everything<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>coat 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trim coat 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>coat 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>trim coat 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>move everything back<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>repeat as needed for other spaces<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\ud83d\ude09\" src=\"https:\/\/static.xx.fbcdn.net\/images\/emoji.php\/v9\/t57\/1\/16\/1f609.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been determined to paint my room (and other parts of the house) for months now.
